Alex Mealer

Alexandra “Alex” del Moral Mealer is a wife, mother of two, combat veteran, and Harvard JD/MBA graduate running to serve her community with the same courage and integrity that defined her military and professional career.

A West Point graduate and former Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (bomb squad) officer, Alex learned to lead under pressure in Afghanistan. She earned joint degrees from Harvard Law and Business Schools before moving to Houston, where she built a successful career in energy finance.

Alex ran for Harris County Judge in 2022 and secured the Republican nomination in a crowded field through a grassroots campaign. Despite a narrow loss, she continued to serve her community, including most recently as METRO’s Public Safety Chair.

Alex and her husband, Clay, a fellow West Point graduate, live in Houston with their two children, where they are active members of Second Baptist Church.
